Lead Controls Engineer – Birmingham, AL

Interface with customers to determine their needs, and keep them informed as projects progress

· Assist in estimation and proposals

· Control panel design using: PLC hardware, pneumatics, motor starters, VFDs, and servo drives

· Be able to quickly understand manufacturing processes, and develop functional specifications and control schemes to control these processes, which may include: process control, batching, machine control, motion control, and safety systems

· Instrumentation specification and configuration

· Programmable Logic Control programming(Rockwell, Siemens, Modicon)

· HMI/SCADA programming (Wonderware, Rockwell, Ignition, iFIX)

· Experience with Vision and Barcoding systems

· Develop test plans and test control system components, such as: control panels, PLC programs, Human Machine Interface programs, Instrumentation, and Drives

· On-site troubleshooting

· On-site I/O Checking and System Startup

· Be able to travel to customer sites

· Be able to work extra hours, including some weekends, according to project needs

Electrical PM Job Description:

  • Improve systems and processes to effectively meet customer and company requirements
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a group of electricians and foremen
  • Participate in work assignments, hiring, promotions and performance evaluations
  • Ensure schedule’s are met for projects, adjust priorities and milestones based upon changing customer needs, resource availability, and job requirements
  • Interact with the customer to ensure expectations are understood and met before, during and after project completion
