Ready for your next step? If you’ve got 6-9 yrs of Controls Experience, especially in the Food & Beverage, Ingredients, Nuts, Dairy, Mining or Manufacturing industries we’d like to talk to you about our new leadership opportunity overseeing our Controls team in the Southern CA area.
What you will be doing:
- Work with customers to determine needs, keeping them informed as projects progress
- You must be able to quickly understand manufacturing processes, which may include process control, batching, machine control, motion control, and safety systems
- Control panel design using: PLC hardware, pneumatics, motor starters, VFDs, and servo drives
- Develop and conduct process control training for operations and maintenance staff
- Instrumentation specification and configuration
- PLC programming (Rockwell, Siemens, Modicon)
- HMI/SCADA programming (Wonderware, Rockwell, Ignition, iFIX)
- Develop test plans and test control system components, such as: control panels, PLC programs, HMI programs, Instrumentation, and Drives
- On-site troubleshooting of control systems
- On-site I/O Checking and System Startup
- Wire and configure devices on the following networks: Ethernet, DeviceNet, ControlNet, AS-i, Modbus, Modbus Plus, and Profibus
- Read P&IDs and electrical schematics
- Use Hart protocol and process multimeter for testing and calibration of instrumentation
- Test/Configure/Calibrate Flow, Pressure, Temperature, Conductivity, Turbidity, and Level instruments
- Commission and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives
- Be able to travel to customer sites
- Lead team of controls engineers
What your current skill set looks like:
- 5yr. technical degree or certificate of completion from an accredited course (or equivalent) is preferred.
- Good communication skills, which includes verbal skills, interpersonal skills, and technical writing
- Experience with Vision and Barcoding systems
- Familiar with many types of valves: electric, pneumatic, modulating, blocking, diverting and mixproof
- Work well as a team member
- Customer care oriented
- Good computer skills and easily able to learn new technologies
- Good at problem solving and troubleshooting
- Good programming aptitude
- Proficient with MS Office
- Beginners knowledge in AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT preferred.
- Experience working at food and beverage processing and minerals and mining industries, preferred
- Project Management experience
